The New Shanghai contemporary art gallery "Capsule Shanghai” is located in the heart of the historical Shanghai district of the former French Concession.
DEDODESIGN conceived the art gallery as a serene, intimate and luxurious space where to encounter artworks by both emerging and well-established international artists. Visitors can experience the paintings and installations from a variety of different point of view and distances as if they were floating in the gallery spaces. In designing the contemporary art gallery Capsule, DEDODESIGN wanted to stay true to the history and roots of the building while also abstracting it from its former residential function. Internally, the rooms are connected as a continuous and coherent sequence of light filled gallery spaces. The simple and logical circulation is enlivened by exquisite details and sensuous surfaces.
