158 Research Center
This project combines Italian creativity with traditional Chinese aesthetics. The site used to be a Confucian temple built at the beginning of the last century, its architectural style has a unique sense of simplicity. Our Italian client asked us to design a Research Center for innovative cutting edge seminars on Intelligent Fabrics. The design is a dynamic and inspiring place around the idea of simplicity and harmony that is also respectful of its traditional context. The floating platforms connects the interior spaces with the outdoor, the courtyard with the Chinese garden. The platforms are elevated from the ground and have large pockets hosting fishponds, bonsai and open-air meetings.
